  • I offer professional whitewater rowing instruction for all skill levels — from beginners to experienced rowers. Classes include proper boat set up, defensive rowing techniques, reading water/recognizing river hazards as well as river safety and equipment recommendations.

  • I specialize in teaching whitewater rowing with a defensive technique, using the river currents to glide on the water. Adding proper raft pivoting and oar coordination, we will maximize efficiency and safety, allowing a more enjoyable whitewater experience.

  • My daily rate is $400 for a single student private instruction. This typically encompasses an 8 hour day, including on land/water instruction, all necessary equipment and boat rigging/derigging.

    Price adjustments will be made for multiple days of instruction and/or size of instructional class requested.

    Daily rate does not include potential vehicle shuttling fee, meals and the required $40 event membership/liability insurance fee via the American Canoe Association, ACA.

  • Wear clothes appropriate for the activity, forecasted weather, etc. Technical outerwear that sheds water, including polypropylene, splash wear, drysuits, wetsuits, etc. Functional river shoes/sandals are a must. I encourage students to bring their personal protective equipment, PPE, including PFD, (life jacket), helmet, as well as personal rescue equipment. PPE can be provided upon request. Sunscreen, water, snacks are also recommended. Most important, bring a sense of adventure!
