Having spent the last 30+ years on whitewater, I can honestly say the river still teaches me something new. During this time I've had the honor of instructing on rivers across the Southeast and Western United States, as well as internationally, working with hundreds of students — from first-timers nervous about getting in a boat to experienced rowers ready to take on bigger challenges. Whether it's rowing technique, river safety, group boating, or equipment setup, my goal is simple — to share my love of the river and help you feel more confident and safer on the water.

I am a certified Level 4 rafting instructor, both oar and paddle, through the American Canoe Association. I am also a USFS permitted, insured commercial outfitter on the French Broad River, sections 8, 9 and 10.
